About Oava
Oava builds brand infrastructure for founders at their inflection point.
We work with businesses preparing to scale—opening locations, launching products, entering new markets—and need a brand that can carry them there. Our process begins with strategy: positioning, story, and differentiation. From there, we create custom hand-lettered wordmarks and bespoke typography systems designed exclusively for each client.
Every brand that leaves our studio is built to last—sophisticated enough for today, structured enough to carry you through the next decade. We believe branding isn't decoration. It's the foundation that enables everything else.
Oava is led by Meg Burk, an artist and designer based in Austin, Texas. Her personal work and type faces live at www.bymegburk.com.
Meet The Founder
the creative behind oava STUDIO
I’m Meg, the founder (director and designer) of Oava. I built Oava to be a horizon-expander, for myself and for my clients.
I’ve always been creative, but I had long felt stifled; unable to find my way as a multidisciplinary artist and entrepreneur. For years I went through life slowly folding creative practices into my daily routines, wondering how they would all intertwine into something that takes on a life of its own.
Branding became a thriving creative outlet (and business). My entrepreneur mindset and creative wellspring flow effortlessly as I bridge the gap between my client’s biggest dreams and the brand’s visual and experiential presence.
I’m endlessly passionate about making the world a better - and a prettier place. I love nature and watching people achieve their dreams.
My mini aussie, Ginger, and I enjoy slow mornings and running outdoors whenever possible.
Remove the boundaries that are holding you back.
Branding is infrastructure—a system that creates boundless freedom in place of restriction.
Oava partners with founders growing in:
Hospitality and experiential spaces
Architecture, interiors, and landscape
Design-led product brands (fashion, beauty, eyewear, materials)
Cultural businesses where craft and quality matter
Pursuit of making something that lasts; that is bigger than them
